The Green Initiatives Committee met on Tuesday, November 13th in the SGA office. All members were present.
Justin created a PR announcement for athletic games which will bring attention to recycling at each event. The PR announcement reads: “A reminder to fans; please recycle all your paper, plastic, aluminum, and cardboard waste in one of the many recycling bins throughout the stands. If there is food in or on your container please do not place it in the recycling bin. Thank you.”
Justin will also be looking at lighting on campus, in particular, motion lights. He will email Larry Lawrence about the idea and ask details such as cost, installation fee, etc.
Megan will email Tim Decker about recycling on campus. The committee feels there is a need to disperse the recycling bins to different areas on the edges of campus.
There will be an interest meeting during X-period on Thursday, November 29th for those RSO’s interested in Green Week. After the RSO’s have met with us, a Green Week Committee, specifically for Green Week, will be formed in which different members from each participating RSO will gather weekly to discuss events, planning, etc.
